Storyboards

Various storyboards were made to explore the narrative design.

Animatic

The storyboards were set to a narration of the script to make a short animatic. The animatic was used to understand the timing of the video.

3D Asset Development

The various enzymes and molecules were extracted from the RCSB Protein Database. ChimeraX was used to edit the representations of the molecules and export them to .obj files.

Scene Creation

The 3D models were then imported into Maya for layout, lighting, and texturing.

Compositing

The 3D renders were then composited to add background, labels, or movement that would have been too computationally restrictive to render in Maya.

Final Process

This small video shows the full process of creating a scene.
